We Are Cool & The Outsiders comparison

I am comparing the poem we Are Cool by Gwendolyn Brooks that I chose that relates to the outsiders it has many details that match up with the details from the outsiders.

In the poem it say “We Die soon” and in the outsiders it is dangerous for them because they could get beaten to death. In the outsiders most of them die at the end of the book Johnny, Dally, and Bob they all didn’t care if they died or went to jail because they thought they had nothing to lose but the gang needed Johnny and Ponyboy needed Dally to help him and lecture him why not to go to jail or drop out.

The poem says “Lurk late”  Some of the outsiders did stay out late and get in trouble. The outsiders mostly Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally always stayed out late like when Johnny and Ponyboy fell asleep in the parking lot. After they walked the girl's home from the movies they also stayed out late. They would also have rumbles and make noises.

In conclusion, I compared the novel and the poem I think that the poem that I chose really does relate to the book because the men don’t care they were irresponsible and just like the outsiders. Overall I really liked the book The Outsiders because I like oldies stuff like that and also the cars that they drove back then.
